Where the Wild Roses Grow
Our little girl is growing up so fast, sometimes it scares me!!! It took a lot longer than it should have, but we FINALLY went out and bought her a "Big Girl Bed". Her feet were starting to stick out thru the ends of her toddler bed, so just as soon as we got our tax refund, we hit the stores!
While Rach & I were searching, her Daddy was home converting the toddler bed frame. As you can see, everything worked out just great!
She really loved the bedding that I picked out for her, even if it wasn't her first choice of Dora the Explorer sheets! She was excited because there was so much purple, and (at least for the moment) purple is her favorite color!
And what was her FAVORITE part of getting a "grown up bed"?
The fact that Penny Puppy can finally fit comfortably on the bed with her!!! And Penny was more than happy to oblige... she made herself very comfortable at the foot of the bed, and stayed there until it was time to go to bed with us!
The next step, we have to re arrange her room... I plan on getting her a nightstand and taking the chair out of there... just want to find something to match the color of the rest of the furniture!

It's Not Too Late
So we've been clearing out the pantry closet... NOT an easy task! But in the midst of the clearout, we discovered an unmade Gingerbread House I bought for Christmas but never got around to making! So...
It's NEVER too late... especially since it didn't expire for another 6 months! LOL...
So she finished the house, and she was actually perfectly ok with NOT eating any of it until Daddy had a chance to see it! I told her she could start eating it tomorrow... but ONLY if she eats her dinner! Bribery is not a bad thing, right?

Girls Just Want to Have Fun
Sometimes, you just gotta have a little fun... She was goofing around and pretending to be a dancing star... so I told her we needed to make the posters to advertise her dancing show... lol... yeah, we are always pretending!

The Birthday Cake
This beautiful nest is right above the main part of Rachel's school... I happened to catch a decent picture of the residents... a beautiful Bald Eagle couple looking quite content in their humble abode!
One of the great things about Rachel going to school is that she has made LOTS of friends. She gets invited to birthday parties all the time now, but some are a little tough to get to. This time was different... she got invited to her teacher's son's party at Lakes Park! And now its cupcake time! She eats them frosting first... Life's short, right? So go for what you like best!
Slides... still her favorite thing to do on a playground!

Our Story
- Jodi Shaw
- We are the proud parents of a beautiful little girl. I have not stopped smiling since the moment they placed her in my arms. We adopted her Sept 2008 and it's been nothing but wonderful! She is the best reason to open my eyes every day! Currently living in SW Florida. I've also become a MAJOR Twilight junkie, so now I'm told I'm a TWI-MOM & I LOVE it!
